The second time the Festival of Falconry was held close to Reading in the UK. The weather was great and it was a pleasant surprise to see my fellow South Aficans present there as well, they had a beautifull young Goshawk at the fair. The Afican birds of prey art display was really impressive. The Dutch were more present as merchants and traders than representatives of the true Dutch traditional and cultural falconry, which I think is a real shame. With a little (actually a lot) better organizing this could become one the few true internaltional falconry fairs of the world. This was the second time, maybe the third time they'll get it right. But make no mistake it was a great fair to have attended, and I'll be there next time too, count on it.
